Richard Chapman and Eric Clapton, authors of" Guitar: Music, History, Players," describe de Paco de Luca as a "titanic figure in the world of flamenco guitar."

De Luca grew up in a Romani neighborhood in Algeciras, Spain. He was surrounded by the music of the neighborhood and his family, which included his father, flamenco guitarist Antonio Snchez. His brothers are flamenco singer Pepe de Luca and flamenco guitarist, Ramn de Algeciras.

De Luca is one of the first flamenco guitarists who has also successfully crossed over into other genres, such as classical and jazz. He is a leading proponent of the Nuevo Flamenco style.

"Entre Dos Aguas" is one of de Luca's best-known compositions.
